MILWAUKEE, WIS. — September, 2010
Hentzen Coatings, Inc., (Hentzen) a leader in aerospace, military, and general industrial protectivecoatings, has patented another innovative product, its SR (Star Resistant) Wrinkle powder coating.
SR Wrinkle is a powder coating that is highly resistant to starring, a common problem in the coating industry.Starring typically occurs during the coating application process and results in increased costs associated with product manufacturing downtime, diminished appearance and decreased durability.
The Hentzen Coatings SR Wrinkle product has a patented coating technology that makes the end product less susceptible to minor amounts of contaminants while tolerating a wider range of pretreatment quality. The coatin provides a more uniform wrinkle finish regardless of the part mass or differences in substrate thickness.
Mike Hentzen, Executive VP of Corporate Development at Hentzen Coatings states, The SR Wrinkle offers a perfect combination of performance, protection, and aesthetics for clients that need a powder coat solution. Hentzen is excited to bring this new technology to market and sees many opportunities to help clients enhance their existing product with this cuttingedge technology.”
In addition, SR Wrinkle can be custom formulated with standard and super-durable weathering performance based on client needs, making it an ideal solution to many General Industrial (GI) applications. Val DeBrunce, Sales Director at Hentzen Coatings, has already witnessed “a multitude of SR Wrinkle applications from exercise equipment to metal office furniture to high-end electronics and gaming machines.”
SR Wrinkle is even re-coatable without special surface preparation, making it more robust and minimizing pretreatment telegraphing.
